Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to the Hotel, 1365m
Arrival at Kathmandu airport, we will pick you up with private vehicles and transfer to Hotel and after short refreshment brief about the programs, relaxing days, Overnight at Hotel,

Day 02: Full day Kathmandu valley sightseeing/overnight at Hotel
After Breakfast full Day Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley to Pasupatinath Temple (one of the biggest Hindus’ temple)/ Boudhanath Stupa (one of the largest Buddhist stupa in the world) Patan Durbar Square and Soyambhunath Stupa as call another name of Monkey Temple. Overnight at Hotel

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Arughat Bazaar (615m) ,8-9 hours by drive
Early in the morning drive proceed from Kathmandu to Arughat by passing ridge of Kathmandu Valley, you catch a glimpse of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and LangtangHimalwith magnificent view and terraces and green hills. After DhadingBisi or Gorkha Bazaar the road is tricky because of the grubby road. To get in Arughat through the Gorkha Bazaar or DhadingBesi depends on your time and choice. The village of Arughat is in two parts, on opposite sides of the BuDiGandaki. Overnight at Guest house.

Day 04: Trek from Arughat Bazar to Soti Khola (780m) ,6-7 hours
After breakfast,trek all the way flowing through BhudiGandaki to reach at SotiKhola. Along the way we enjoy splendid views of ShringriHimalahead and local live hood with rice fild. The trail goes through the Gurung and Magar villages, past fields and cascading waterfalls, till we reach SotiKhola. Overngiht at gust house.

Day 05: Trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola (974m),6-7 7 hours
Trek from SotiKhola to Machhakhola is gently flat and sometime little ascent goes through the rice field and exploring people live hood. Machhakhola is a small village, which is situated above BhudiGandaki River. Overnight at guest house.

Day 06: Trek from Machha Khola to Doban (1120m),6-7 hours
Today the trail goes through gently steep ascents and descents passing some forest and stream reach to the Doban. The trail gives the glimpses of diversity of flora & fauna, and people with different religion and cultures.Doban means confluence of the stream, where ShiarKhola comes from the east, and the Sarpukhola meet from the west. Overnight at guest house.

Day 07: Trek from Doban to Philim (1,570 m),6-7 hours
The trails leads gently ascend on a rugged rocky trail through some beautiful landscape walking through Jungle, viewing waterfall.During this trekking the narrow valley shaping by BudhiGandaki provides the magnificent vistas of Ganesh Himal, ShringiHimal and HimalChuli, as we continue up to the large Gurung village and fields of corn and millet. Phhilim is nice village and overnight at guest house.

Day 08: Trek from Philim to Deng (1865m) ,6-7 hours
Trek form Phhilim starts through a narrow dramatic gorge section with towering walls, past a thundering waterfall just above us and cross the suspension bridge, ascend gradually along a wide hillside. After trekking through dense forest the small village of Deng, lower Nubri region called Kutang, where the people are ethnically pure Tibetans. You can see the  views of LumboHimal as well as Lapuchen and DwijenHimals. Overnight at guest house.

Day 09: Trek from Dang to Ghap (2190m),5-6 hours
Today the trail goes through the valley with across the bridge switchback steeply up to the small, poor village of Lana, after solidly climbing through lovely woods of pine and we reach BihiPhedi, views of KutangHimal, several Mani wall on the way sign of the tiny Tibetan footholds mark in the high Himalayan places and staill we need to cross the BuriGandaki as wel as up and down as we walk through the gorge, all the time enjoying spectacular views. Overnight at Guest house.

Day 10: Trek from Ghap to Lho village (3180m), 5-6 hours
Trek starts through forest crossing BudhiGandaki wooden bridge, ascent gently up to Tibetan-run lodge Namrung, views of mountains. Then the trail goes to extensive pastures land to the ancient Lihi village and flowing down the Lidanda Glaciers reach the picturesque Tibetan village of Sho over 3000. On the way to Lho, the spectacular views of NgadiChuli and spectacular view of ManasluHimal. Lho village is beautiful and quite large village with huge monastery and Mani wall around here with magnificent view with ManasluHimal. Overnight at guest house.

Day 11: Trek from Lhovillage to Sama Gaon  (3560m), 4-5 hours
The trail begins little ascent passing mani wall and descent to the small stream and all the way ascent to the next Tibetan settlement of Shayla with amazing mountain panoramas. Then the treks through the classic alpine leads through crossing Next River and walk along the valley viewing to reach at old settlement SamaGaon. SamaGaon is quite larege village in this area and lots of interesting cultural and natural side for exploring your time. Overnight at guest house.

Day 12: Acclimatization and Explore day in SamaGaon
Today is rest day and exploring day around PungGyenGompa, at 3870 meters, or explore around the lake near by Manaslu base camp, visit school and people around the village. Overnight at samaGaon guest house.

Day 13: Trek from Sama Gaun to Samdo village (3850m), 4-5 hours
About four or five hours walk through the valley gently flat and sometime little ascent to rach at Samdo village. Samdo is small town where the people live here only for the business. Overnight at guest house.

Day 14: Trek from Samdo village to Dharamsala High Camp (LarkyaPhedi) (4485m), 4-5 hours
After short walk, just cross the small bride and walk along they gently ascent about three hours of climbing past glaciers, with increasingly overwhelming panoramas, reach at Dharamsala. Daramshala is small place and there is only one guest house with cozy room and dining room so sometime very crowd during the main season. Overnight at guest house or tent.

Day 15: Trek from Darmasal Larke yPhadi to via Larkya La pass(4930m) to Bimphedi (3590m) 8-9 hours
Today is long day over crossing high pass so early in the morning take breakfast and start the trek to the Lark la pass with magnificent view of Larke peak and many other peak surrounding. Approximately four hours trek will reach on the top of the Larkya La (4930m), view of wonderful panoramic mountains HimlungHimal (7126meter), CheoHimal (6820meters), Gyagi Kung, Kang Kuru (6981meters) and the Annapurna II (7937meters) equally stunning from both sides. The descent is steep, through some huge craves and slippery, through moraines, rocky trails towards Bhimphedi. Overnight at Bimthang guest house.

Day 16: Trek from Bimthang toTilje village (2310m), 5-6 hours
From Bimthang to Tilje trekking offers gently descent through the forest and some beautiful passing villages and filled. Tilje is small town with mix cultural and ethinic group living in this are on the bank of small stream. Overnight at guest house.

Day 17: Trek from Tilje to Dharapani (1770m) - 4 to 5 Hours
Today is the last day trekking to Dharapani walking descent through the small forest and crossing several suspension bridge.Dharapani is the junction where the Annapurna circuit trekking goes towards ascent and descent to Kathmandu. Overnight spend the last night at Dharapani or still trek further down to the Jagatand next day drvie back to Kathmandu.

Day 18: Drive from Syange to kathmandu about 7/8hrs.
Drive back to Kathmandu by private vehicles via Bensishara,Mugling through highway to Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu Hotel.

Day 19: leisure day in Kathmandu and shopping day
Visit Kathmandu Durbar Squire, Shopping and leisure day in Kathmandu, final culture dinner,

Day 20: Departure to the Kathmandu airport and fly back to home,
Drive to Kathmandu airport and fly back to back to destination.

About Accommodation.
In Kathmandu, we will accommodate you at Hotel Himalayan Traveller's Inn, and In Pokhara at Hotel Trekkers' Inn. Local lodges accommodation provided during the trek on twin sharing basis. Hotel in Kathmandu and in Pokhara comes with private bathroom , however in mountain, toilet and shower will be on sharing basis. In the busy months, (October/November & April/ May) you may have to share the room with other traveler as some villages have limited number of local lodges .

About Meal
You can enjoy typical Nepali food as well as continental , Italian, Indian and Tibetan. Dinner and breakfast serve at the teahouse where we stay and lunch will be served on the way to next destination. In Kathmandu and in Pokhara, only breakfast is provided. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, no worries, Nepal is such a easy place to get several vegetarian options.

About Staff:
A Guide and a porter assist you from Kathmandu to Kathmandu. In a group with more than 8 clients, 2 guide will be provided. A porter provided for 2 trekkers, and carries between 15 to 20 K.G.

About Equipments

Following Equipment list is recommended to bring for the trek.
Down Sleeping Bag, Down Jacket, Long sleeved shirt, Jumper or fleecy jacket, T – shirts, Trekking shoes or boots, Comfy shoes for around the camp, thick and warm woolen socks, Light cotton socks , A day bag to carry your valuable, Sun hat, Woolen hat, Gloves, rain coat, Sun block, lip balm , Goggles or sunglasses, Long underwear, Thermal wear, Nylon windbreaker, Nylon wind pants, Water bottle, Sewing kit, Medical & first aid kit, Flash light, Batteries and bulbs, Swiss army knife, Towel and toiletries etc.

Physical Fitness and experience
Makalu Trek is a moderate which is fit for those who has the ability to walk 5-6 hours ups and down in a day carrying own day bag. Some days are even longer with 7- 8 hours of walking. Annapurna Base Camp is high altitude trek which demands more physical fitness,however if you are strongly determined and have excellent health and average physical fitness can complete this trek. Few weeks prior to the trip, doing some physical exercise is better . No technical skill is needed however past experience also helps . If you are taking medicine for heart, lung or for blood diseases, please kindly consult your doctor and inform to Vista Trek P. Ltd.

About Insurance,
You have to obtain the travel insurance which should cover emergency evacuation and medical expenses. Some Insurance policy's cover only up to 4000 meter, so please kindly confirm with the insurance company before you purchase it.

About Seasons
Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best months for Makalu Trek. You can do it in winter (December to February )if you are used to with extreme cold temperature.

About Bus Drive
Highway in Nepal are safe, however sometime transport can be halted due to landslide , strike or by political issues. In such case trip itinerary will be affected. Thus, we would like to request you to add few days extra in Kathmandu. If you complete your trip smoothly, then you can enjoy your time with other activities like sightseeing, White water rafting. Jungle activities or more.
